Origins #1 takes us back to the beginning, when our Universe was originally formed. It provides an insightful version of our Universal Origin through cataclysmic "Butterfly Effect" events. A high percentage of "natural" occurrences transpire through a series of seemingly non influential actions that trigger new, sometimes reality altering actions in a type of "Domino Effect."
Also in this issue, we meet Maria, an extraordinary girl who, unknown to her, is a key triggering catalyst for a malevolent scheme designed to destroy all that is Holy on a Universal scale. Maria's sister, Teresa, who was destined to be a Holy messenger, was gunned down by an apparent gang related incident, but as Maria later realizes, there are forces involved that transcend our mortal plane of reality.
